A collaborative facility for the characterization of the
optical and electrical properties of materials currently exists
in the Engineering Research Building at the University of
Wisconsin. This facility, developed since 1994, includes a number
of tools primarily intended for the characterization of
semiconductor materials. Tools available include:
- a variable
temperature photoluminescence system,
- a Bede D3
multiple crystal x-ray diffractometer,
- a
capacitance-voltage electrochemical profiler,
- a Van Der Pauw Hall
measurement system,
- a near-field scanning electron microscope (NSOM), and
- a state-of-the-art commercial AFM.
The facilities are open for general use through IRG 1.
