Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometer

Description

FTIR spectroscopy is used for structural characterization of organic and inorganic molecules in solids, liquids, gases, and on surfaces. Qualitative and quantitative information about the molecule may be obtained.

Equipment

  • Nicolet Series II Magna-IR System 750 FTIR
  • Windows-based OMNIC® software for data collection and analysis
  • Nic-Plan IR microscope with transmitted, reflected, and attenuated total reflectance (ATR) objectives
  • ProfilIR in an auxilary experiment module for ATR with variable incident angles

Accessories

  • Harrick Seagull accessory for grazing angle specular reflective measurement in thin film analysis including monolayers
  • Diffuse reflectance accessory for powder analysis, high temperature and vacuum accessory
  • Video image capture system
  • Motorized micropositioning stage on the IR microscope, spectral mapping
  • KBr and quartz beamsplitters are available to choose
  • DTGS and MCT detectors are available to use
  • Various types of sample preparation kits for liquid and solid transmittance and reflectance measurements
