The MRSEC Facilities Network is a nationwide partnership of NSF supported MRSEC centers designed to provide support to researchers in the broad area of Materials Research in academic, government and industrial laboratories around the world.
Shimadzu UV3600 UV-Nir-NIR Spectrometer

The Shimadzu UV3600 UV-Nir-NIR Spectrometer is a high sensitivity, high resolution, low stray light instrument for Diffuse Reflectance, Specular Reflectance, Transmission and Absorption measurements of powder, thin film, solid, and liquid samples. It will normally be fitted with an Integrating Sphere with a working range of 220 to 2600 nm.

A larger range of 190 to 330 nm is available for liquid or translucent thin films in Transmission and Absorption.

There are options for creative sample mounting.

These measurements can be used for Spectrum, Kinetic, or Photometric work.
